The problem persists across different sites I frequent, most notably dropout.tv and archive.org. videos I try to watch either don't play in the browser at all, or play without any sound, even though nothing is muted. The only site completely unaffected seems to be youtube, where everything works as usual.

We have tried resetting preferences in the browser and turning add-ons off, even used a completely new browser profile to access the websites, but nothing seems to have worked so far.
