Homepage randomly switches to MSN?

I have noticed recently that every week or so my Firefox browser will randomly change my homepage directory to the landing page / search for MSN, which is baffling, since it is obtrusive and anti-Mozilla to me.

If y'all are sneaking it in for that sweet ad revenue, I understand, but I would donate to avoid this issue.

Otherwise Firefox / Thunderbird are awesome, and I appreciate all that you do!

Cheers, Elliot

Hi Elliot, Firefox is pretty wedded to the built-in home page, so MSN is not normal.

For better or worse, the home page address is stored in a file that any other program can modify (the prefs.js file). I don't know whether that is the problem, or it's getting changed in some other way.

Can you think of any event that happens on your system on a weekly schedule which might be linked with this problem?
