Weird Errors From Password Manager
So I'm just idly doing cleanup / maintenance work on my saved passwords and have encountered the most ridiculous error message:
- Vulnerable Password
- Learn more\
- This password has been used on another account that was likely in a data breach. Reusing credentials puts all your accounts at risk. Change this password.
Except I know the password is unique.
I have a strict username / password usage where every site gets a unique password, period.
Someone broke something in when it calls ABC = DEF

Hi Colin,
I believe that means someone else (not you) also used the same password, and that password appeared in a data breach. For more details, see Firefox Password Manager - Alerts for breached websites.

Someone else coming up with the same password as me? Really unlikely, I wrote my own password generator.
Also on the oddity list then, I don't recycle passwords, so:
- Firefox will also check to see if you’ve reused any of these potentially vulnerable passwords with other logins you’ve saved to Firefox.
And then the dates are wrong, password was changed after the alleged breach, I know this because when I use my password manager to generate a new password for a site because of personal reasons, the program date stamps the entry
And then the oddity, some of the websites where the alleged breach took place ceased to exist before the alleged breach.
