Thunderbird has worked just fine to send messages from my Google Gmail account until today when suddenly, , it seems to reject sending of most eMail messages and does not save outgoing messages to the sent folder. When I seek to send a message, it says

smtp.gmail.com:465 .. the certificate is not trusted because it hasn't been verified as issued by a trusted authority using a secure signature

It also will no longer send mail from "smtp.gmail.com:465 for Yahool

All of a sudden I seem to have lost ability to send eMails.

I will be completely restarting my machine.

Suggestions?

That sounds like you have an antivirus issue. Try disabling it and see if things improve
