error message reads The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

   This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

Sounds like the site in not compatible with Firefox and could be the security checks it uses fails login check when using Firefox. You might want to contact kaiser permanante support and ask them which Browser they prefer you use as login to their system?

Thanks, that's kind of what I figured, but this is a kind of new development. 2 months ago i switched from McAfee to Norton, and ever since then this has been an issue ONLY IN FIREFOX. both Chrome and Edge still open the Kaiser site without an isssue. There are also other sites that will no longer open from Firefox, some of my banking and financial sites. Obviously this has resulted in an decreased use of firefox. I kinda came to this forum as a last resort. It seems i might just be better off changing my default browser.

I realize my original post was a bit vague, but I did copy the text of the error message in the first comment

The page isn’t redirecting properly

not only did i not refuse to accept cookies, I've also added the KP site to the "always accept" list. still nothing. As I said in another reply, this is a new thing from about 2 months ago, before then I never had a problem and other browsers have no issue opening the KP site. If it is a problem with the KP site as suggested by someone else, then I guess using another browser is the best resolution.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or blocked cookies.

  • check the permissions for the domain in the selected tab in "Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions"

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings), click the padlock icon (Clear cookies and site data) for the domain in the selected tab.

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click "Refresh Firefox" in the Troubleshoot Mode start window
