Sponsored Suggestion on the home page sucks. I don't find a way to remove it on 115.13.0esr (64-bit). I'm sad to see this practice getting implemented in my favorite browser.

You mean Sponsored shortcut/tile? See /questions/1432127.
They are easily switched off by either clicking the gear-wheel in the top right corner or going to Settings > Home and doing it there.
