Since your last update I can no longer view my credit card statements, it downloads a pdf file. If I go to download the pdf instead I receive four pdf files downloaded. The edge and brave browsers don't do this.

That change was result of FF98 that it started to download then give the user how to save or print options. There is a way to fix this but FF has since removed any mentions or help how to do this.
In what format were you viewing them? If .pdf, Firefox will evidently always download them. I understood there is an exception but now I don't know. This article could conceivably help.
