The Firefox suddenly stopped to remember a lot of data
Hi. I rebooted the computer, and the Firefox suddenly stopped (1) save and show history (2) save bookmarks icons (3) google autocomplete (4) save new bookmarks. So the address field does not complete anything at all. The history window is always empty, and does not show even the currently opened tabs. Tried to reopen the Firefox, or open in safe mode - does not help. Thank you.

Hello and thank you. I did not reinstalled the Firefox yet. It looks too brutal to me, deleting a lot of info. So, I tried something else as a first step. I deleted all the Profiles directory and replaced it with the backup I made a couple of months ago. And it helped. There is no problem any more.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)

Do Not remove any profile folders.

That would mean the problem was likely in the profile folder.

Manually back up and restore Firefox profile data. I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.
Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.
If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.
Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.
