says i have 55 e mails but only downloads 1 at a time. Same one each time

For a few days I couldn't get any mail, then it started to work. Now after being away from the computer for a couple days it says i have 55 messages, but only downloads one. i delete it and download again, and again only one downloads, and it's the same one that it downloaded last time and i deleted. Over and over again. Any ideas how to fix this?

Go to your providers webmail site and delete the problem message or move it out of the inbox .
