Cook'n Recipe Capture Plugin not available for your platform
Cook'n Recipe Capture Plugin will not reinstall, I receive a message that the plugin is not compatible with my platform. However, I have used it since it was introduced, but once I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox I receive the message. I have contacted DVO who created the plugin and they have no idea why it has stopped working. Can you help? Thanks.

Hi, all that can think of is something is not registered properly and it is identifying your browser as a different version. Thus the error.
If this install has been updated and updated it might be good to download a fresh full version installer and reinstall :
but after you have backed up :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
or can try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
then
TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:
If is your Profile :
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Thank you so much for your response. Unfortunately, I am not sophisticated enough to follow the process, and very unsure of my understanding of the steps. I guess I will just live with the problem, but I truly thank you for your assistance.

They are all step by step, nothing that is to hard to handle.
Or simply try installing over top of if by downloading this : https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
The compatibility information says that only the Windows platform is supported, so you can't do much about this apart from contacting DVO another time and ask them why they only support Windows.

I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work on other platforms. I managed to install it on Linux via a local installation, but I don't know how to use/test it. Here is a direct link that you can try. Download and save the file (right-click: Save Link As) to the desktop or anther convenient location. Use the menu item in the cogwheel drop-down list on the about:addons page to install the extension.
