Sorry to hear about the crashes. Can you tell whether your crash reports are getting submitted successfully? It is helpful to support volunteers to get the crash report IDs so we can view the crash details on the crash stats server. Please check the support article "Firefox crashes - asking for support" for steps to get those crash report IDs from the about:crashes page or from disk, and then post some of the recent ones here.

Also and/or meanwhile, could you check whether Firefox will start in its Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the option key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

• "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
• Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Thanks for a quick reaction ! I can t open it in Safe Mode when I hold down the alt key (which should be the option key on my mac keyboard). I think i ve been sending crash reports over six months en I stopped because it never got any better. It says: successfully sent (i just sent one) I m not able to follow the instructions on getting the crash report IDs (whatever that may be) because I don't know where to look for Search (under Charms ?) its all in dutch, on my Mac. Should I use Finder ?

I think you use the option key, not the Alt key, or is that the same on your keyboard? I'm a Windows user and we use the Shift key.

For the help articles, in the left column, look for EDITING TOOLS and expand that if needed. Toward the bottom, you can select Mac as your OS to get the correct steps for digging into this folder:

~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Crash Reports/submitted/

Oh wait, is the problem on Windows 8.1 and the Mac is working? I that case, you would use the Shift key to start in Safe Mode, and switch the help article to Windows 8.

I don t have windows, I have iOs I restarted my Mac and suddenly i could choose the safe mode so ik could copy and past al the reports. A problem which I used to have occurred: I can t shut Firefox down/stop it. I have to force stopping it. Out of the blue: it works ! (can t stop it, only bij forcing en showing new reports about that, but i can live with that). Thanks a lot for your help !

That is a problem with libaetpkss.3.0.dylib that is part of SafeSign card reader software.

You will have to contact SafeSign for support and disable or remove this device in the Security Device manager.
