I just upgraded to Windows 10 and now Firefox cannot access either Gmail or Facebook because the connection is "Untrusted" ((Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer). What is the problem?? I have tried deleting the cert8 database and restarting.

You could try reinstalling the latest version of Avast.

Or you could disable the scanning of secure requests. See: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1075985

Or there is a way to manually set up Firefox to work with Avast if the above are not what you're looking for, but I'd need to research the steps for that.

Sorry for the hassle. Many users are updating their security software or enabling parental controls during or shortly after their Windows 10 upgrade, and Firefox may need to be set up to work with those changes.

Do you use Avast, BitDefender, ESET or Kaspersky security software?

If not, could you try disabling Microsoft Family Safety: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/turn-off-microsoft-family-settings

I restarted and it's working now. Thanks again for your help.
