Firefox keeps uninstalling java
OK,
I have a hardware firewall that depends on a specific version of java. A version that was, well just recently blocked by firefox. and now ever hour firefox is complaining about wanting to remove it.
I have to use this version. The firewall's interface does not work with the newest versions of java.
How the hell can I make firefox stop doing this cause the extensions.blocklist.enable setting in the about:config sure is not work cause I've set it to false and restarted firefox.
Or should i just stop using firefox and just uninstall it and swith to something else?

you might also have to delete the blocklist.xml file inside your profile folder for this setting to take effect. edit: and there is another copy of this file in the firefox program folder
please note however that the old versions of java make you vulnerable to numerous security threats. you might use an extension like noscript to only enable java on your firewall
