why does Bing search act as home page when I open a NewTab?

Google is my normal home page. It opens when Firefox initializes. But...when I open a new tab, Bing page opens, not Google. I went to Manage Search Engines and deleted Bing, but this has not helped.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
