How can I modify the opacity of my toolbars?

I am in process of setting up a new PC. I installed FF8 and imported my old bookmarks. The toolbars across the top are all opaque. This part of my desktop can be see (a little blurred) which make it very difficult to pick out toolbar buttons!

See:

Right click in a free space on your desktop.
Left click on Personalization.
There are four options in Windows 7 at the bottom of the screen, choose "Window Color and Appearance".
Select a border color
Uncheck: "Enable transparency"
