since I installed v5, if I have browser windows minimized and click the firefox icon to open a new browser window, all minimized windows are activated (all pop up on desktop and have to be minimized again) windows 7 pro 64bit

Why not open a new window from a Restored or Maximized Firefox window?
{ Ctrl + N } or Firefox button > New Tab -> New Window or File > New Window
That does the same thing, all windows activate again
