PC Tools Browser Defender uninstalled but it has left "search defender" behind and I cannot uninstall it

PC Tools (without asking) installed a program called Browser Defender in Firefox. Uninstalled it but now when I type a search question into the address box (not the Search box) up comes PC Tools Search Defender with its version of a search engine. How can I get rid of this please? It's not in Add-Ons or showing in list of progs to delete in control panel - nor in the registry.
