Valgt løsning

Double–clicking in the empty space around tabs or using your system's "traffic lights" window buttons — the green one has a few windowing functions incl. fullscreen switch.

Firefox main menu (the ☰ button in the corner) has a "Zoom" item where you can enter and exit the fullscreen mode as well.

Also check you system's menu bar "View" and "Window" menus for any layout adjustment that might be relevant to your situation.
