Recovering mail folders
I was attempting to move my thunderbird folders from one computer to a new one. I followed the instructions, copied the thunderbird app data and went to transfer it. However, two problems arose. First, it only held my incoming mail, not sent, drafts, anything else. Second and worse, those folders are now gone from my existing thunderbird on my current computer. How can I recover these and transfer them? I really need this info. I tried following the instructions from the troubleshooting menu, but that only showed me the folders which had transferred, not the ones that are missing.

Ok you need to be much more precise in describing what you have done. Perhaps I can guess, but I really don't want to.
What instructions did you follow exactly? There are many ways. Some current, some not. Some will mess up your current profile others will add to it. So knowing exactly what you have copies top where is quite important.
I'm not entirely sure. Whatever I read online told me to go to the roaming app data, copy that to the new computer. When I did so the folders didn't show up on the new system, and I could no longer find them on the old one. The old system used pop3, and when I set up the new one it auto created imap. I didn't catch this until later, I imagine it's part of the issue, maybe the whole thing. Somewhere along the way I deleted the old account, trying to get the old folders to pop back up, and it also auto set to imap when I restored the account. When I set the new system up as pop3 I was able to pull my (entire) old inbox, but not other mailboxes, or address book. Tomorrow I will kill the account on the old system, re-do it as pop3, MAYBE that solves things on that end, at least I'll have something.
