In previous versions of FFox when a file was being downloaded, a file download window opened for each file. Is that feature completely gone or is there still a way to open a window for each file?

I think the current idea is to click on the Download icon, the Underscored Down arrow, which show those in the current session.

So the consensus is "No, we can't have a window open for each download" anymore. Only a list is available. Bummer.
