Can you attach a screenshot how it looks for you? Hasn't something changed your "home page" in Settings? What happens if you type about:newtab in your address bar and press Enter? Is the the same?

Thanks for your help. i went into settings for new tabs and changed it to be the same as my opening screen and it worked OK. All good. Thanks again.
