Cannpt use INBOX as before

I have been using the INBOX that is under my email address. This worked for years except one time before when the same thing happened where the messages are from years ago. I have to go further down to use ALLMAIL to get the current messages. The INBOX shows "3" while the ALLMAIL shows 5,626.

So, the INPUT is not current as before but old messages. How do I fix this?

Thanks for your input. As before when I looked at it now all is good! I think that this might be why: If I have mail I get a number telling me. But it doesn't clear when I read it. The only way to clear the numbers is to click someplace on the left and it goes away. But there must be a chick that causes the problem, so I must be careful when this happen.

P.S. What is the different of the twp inboxes?

So it looks like you have two accounts coming in

the default goes to the Inbox and the second account is a part of the Inbox.

So it will have to be sorted via Account settings

You can have just one inbox

Thank you for your help. I have an account for my main email. There are two other g mails that I use infrequency but they have been in the system from the beginning. Are there other, real accounts, that I don't know about? I have reviewed the Settings.

Are you basing your conclusion only on the difference in counts or does the inbox really not show the latest messages?

Are you using message filters? Are some messages messages in the spam and trash folders unread?

A common recommendation is not to subscribe to gmail’s Allmail folder because it is redundant.

You have not provided any information about two inboxes.

If you are asking about Allmail: it is not an inbox. It is where gmail puts all your messages, including inbox, trash, sent, deleted, et cet. That is why it is redundant and you should not subscribe to it. Right click on the account name in the folder pane, select "Subscribe", and uncheck it.
