The VPN data limit of 50GB -- what does that mean practically? How much surfing, streaming, etc?

I use Firefox on a Macbook, and occasionally on my IPhone SE. I have no sense of what 50GB of web browsing means. I play episodes of French in Action from Learner.org. Very occasionally stream movies.

After about 20 days since installation, I have 27GB left.

So, the limit is how much the data the VPN can use. So when you connect a device to the internet and say you were to watch a video on youtube, the device has to download the video from the web and display the video to your device. This uses data. A VPN can be used to access region locked content on a platform such as netflix, which brings me back to the point of the video needing to be downloaded. A video running in higher resolution will use more data. And to answer you question about the 50GB and how much you can get from it. It depends on what you do with it. You could get 50+ hours of streaming and 100+ hours of browsing the web. Hope this helps.

A VPN or Virtual private network makes your IP appear from a different country, and there are limits to how much you can use. Once you run out, you wont be able to use the VPN until the monthly refresh. If you want no data limits, I suggest buying the Mozilla VPN for $5 a month. Thanks for your replying. I get that there are limits -- it's limits of what that I don't understand.

Sorry, let me try clarify. My questions is, how much is 50GB? If I looked at, 50 page views a day for a month and streamed 2 full-length movies, would I run out? How about a 2-hour movie every day of the month?

I think of GBs as storage space, not actions. I'm not storing anything but history/cookies. Is that what they mean?

It's not really easy to answer that question, since it depends a lot on what you are doing with it. There are some websites that list some examples to give you an idea. It's important to know that those are not 100% accurate numbers, more like a general estimate.

Some examples: What Does 50GB of Extra Data Get You? We Did the Maths How much data do I need? How Much Data Does Streaming Use?

Browsing the web for an hour will be around 40-80 MB (simple sites) to 150-400 MB (a lot of images, autoplay videos etc.) Listening to Spotify for an hour will be around 40 MB (low quality), 70 MB (normal), or 150 MB (high quality) Watching YouTube/Netflix for an hour will be around 0.5 GB (480p), 1 GB (720p), 2-3 GB (1080p), 6-8 GB (4K)

Thank you, Fylvara, that is exactly what I wanted to know. I appreciate your help.
