Why has the most recent upgrade to Firefos removed ALL of my tabs and pinned tabs? I have lost loads of pages that were important. I can see some of them in the history BUT I am unable to 'reopen all tabs' because that facility doesn't work! It's a disaster.

Sorry to hear that. Please see How to restore a browsing session from backup (and avoid unnecessarily reopening Firefox to keep fresher backups).
