I have to reload history, bookmarks, passwords each 3 - 4 days, when Firefox refreshes the software. It was not happening before, just in the last two moths. How can I fix it?

Recently my installation of Firefox (Windows 10, 64 bit) updated. Now my bookmarks are apparently gone--or at least I can't see them. Furthermore, I can't bookmark anything at all, so I don't have the option of laboriously rebuilding my library of bookmarks. I don't know how to recover what I had, or even if I can at all. Nor do I know how to alter settings so I can add new bookmarks. Could someone please assist? Thanks.

I'm on Windows 11. After I added some plug-ins and extensions to replace the ones that went missing during your last update, my bookmarks also went missing. (They were there before I replaced the plug-ins and extensions.) I followed your instructions on how to access my bookmark back ups, and found them. However, everytime, I tried to install one of the backups, I ended up with no bookmarks at all in Firefox.

Please help, I have no access to any of my accounts!

I had to erase my laptop and am in the process of resetting it up. I used firefox prior and am trying to see if it is possible to restore all my previous bookmarks etc. I was told it automatically backed them up.

Almost every time there is an update------it screws up something I rely on. In this case, the sites I have saved under the top search bar have now disappeared. Why?????? And how do I get them back.

I readily admit that I am technically challenged and need clear concise instructions step by step to find them and put them back where I had them. 

Why oh why do the buggers making these changes think anyone is going to like them. Leave things that work well ALONE.

Hello, yesterday my 2025 Macbook restarted on it's own and my Firefox browser restarted too, and while it brought me back to all the tabs I had open, every single one of my bookmarks has disappeared. I only have one profile. All my extensions are working properly. The bookmarks sidebar and toolbar are both completely wiped clean. I've tried to go through the backup and restore options provided in this community previously, but going into my library and clicking 'backup' or 'restore' has done nothing. How can I recover my bookmarks? I had been saving small business links for years that are now just gone for seemingly no reason.

You forced an update and all my open tabs vanished into thin air. I was working with those!!!

I tried to follow the history recover path, no-go. I tried the json file path and can't get Firefox to open the tabs in the json recovery file from a month ago, not that that would be helpful anyway since I want yesterday's before the update!

Now I gotta spend a lot of time finding those scientific papers again - should charge you my hourly rate for wasting my time.

It's sh.it programming that's what it is. Bet you they were using AI to do the update.

Well never mind, I've grown tired of Firefox anyway since it just starts using 80% of my RAM when I have more than 10 tabs open. There's other browsers.

Windows 11 for a start, just recover my account if you can, forget about AI primary password and all the rest of the rubbish, have the decency to have a phone helpline for people

I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!

Logged on to find this message. Followed "Fix" set as best I could (I am puter dumb) with no joy. "Manage Bookmarks" is completely blank. All wits end, Please HELP!

There was an update and I thought I had to create a profile but no. So now I have lost all my very important bookmarks and I do not seems to be able to retrieve them. Only one date top retrieve which is only yesterday
