Thunderbird I can no longer send and receive e-mail with Thunderbird.
11 Nov.
I have used Thunderbird for many years to manage my e-mail. I have always had a Thunderbird icon (shortcut) on the desktop. To open Thunderbird, I have just clicked on that icon, and opened Thunderbird with no problem. I have used it for years.
For about a week, when I want to open Thunderbird, I get a big Google window, requiring me to log in using Google. Why would this just start up one day, without me having done anything to trigger it?
The trouble is, it does not work. In the Google window, I am asked to enter my e-mail address. I do that, and click on "Next". The next window tells me that there is "Error 400". and I cannot get beyond this.
As a result, I cannot send or receive e-mail with Thunderbird. I have many Local Folders set up in Thunderbird, with a lot of data and e-mails, from many years. For emergency purposes, I am able to get and send e-mail from my Gmail account, but that does not allow me to organize things the way I can in Thunderbird.
I do not know why Google has gotten involved when I want to open Thunderbird. Does anyone else have this problem on a desktop PC? What is the solution.? I badly need to be able to continue to use Thunderbird to manage my e-mail. Thank you.

I am having this same issue with my Att.net account.
It was working fine until about 6pm Nov 11 and then all the sudden it stopped connecting.
Like you, I have YEARS of folders with information I cannot loose.
I have searched, googled, called AT&T 3 times in hopes that they can help. NO
I have searched this forum and found someone with a similar issue and I did EVERY SINGLE THING that the responder told that person to do. Everything on my side shows it is set up correctly but NOTHING is pulling in, yet I can get it on the yahoo.com site but all my other information is in TB.
I am hoping someone will answer your questions / issues and help us both.
Sorry for piggy backing on your post. I am hoping it will gab someones attention that we are both having the same issue and someone will be able to help.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE! though that doesn't fix either of our issues.

Hi Stacey, I know how stressful this is. It consumed me for about 10 days. Yesterday, I was fortunate to finally find a local computer consultant who was able to fix this. He even recovered all my Local Folders and their contents. Those had been (temporarily) lost by some other people who attempted to deal with this.
I wish you the best of luck in finding someone who can fix it for you.
