There is only one place which can setup/modify etc a password for an email address and that is in the webmail account which you access via a browser. If you cannot logon to webmail account there is usually a 'Forgotten Password' link which you need to use and follow instructions to regain access to webmail account.

Once you have set up password to access server then you can use it to create a mail account in Thunderbird.
