Deleted items and sent items

Although there are items in the deleted folder, I am unable to see them. They do sometimes appear if I go back in after say 30 Minutes. How can I get them to show? Also, when sending e-mails I am getting the message 'Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent'. How can I get them to go into the main 'Sent' folder automatically as they used to do?

1. Before doing step 2, check Error Console (ctrl+shift+J) for warnings and errors when clicking on the Trash folder

2. right+click affected folder and do Properties > Repair - does the problem go away? Permanently?
