I have been asked to "refresh my browser". I look this up on Firefox and there is no simple answer, lots of technical talk, but nothing simple.I know this is a simple task. do I just close Firefox and reopen it?

Hi, who asked you to refresh your browser?

In Firefox, a Refresh refers to generating a new settings folder (profile) and discarding custom settings and add-ons. Usually you wouldn't do that unless there is a pretty serious problem that people haven't been able to solve. I think you're right that quitting out and restarting would be the logical first step before doing anything drastic.
