The root problem is that when I try to open a movie in a web browser, I get the message "Oops. Your web browser is no longer supported. " see attached.

1370719 had a response that made no sense to me.

Is there anyway to fix this issue?

Here are the steps I have taken so far: Fix Digital Rights Error in Firefox Fix Digital Rights Error on Firefox

When you encounter the Digital Rights Error on Firefox, it displays a detailed message and even provides you with methods through which you can fix the DRM error. There are three different methods to try and fix the issue on firefox. Enable DRM via Popup

When it displays the error, you can usually fix it with just one click – from a pop up that appears below the toolbar. Simply click on Enable DRM. Enable DRM in Firefox Browser Enable Widevine Content Decryption Module

If you missed the popup, you can turn on the Widevine module in Firefox settings:

Step 1: Click the hamburger menu icon on the top right corner of the screen. Select Add-Ons and themes. Enable Widevine to Fix Digital Rights in Firefox

Step 2: Click on Plugins. Enable Widevine to Fix Digital Rights in Firefox

Step 3: If the Widevine Content Decryption Module is disabled, click the three dots on the option. Enable Widevine to Fix Digital Rights in Firefox

Step 4: Click on Always Activate. Enable Widevine to Fix Digital Rights in Firefox

You can now try reloading the website or the streaming service and your issue will be fixed.

Does Widevine appears on the Plugins list on the Add-ons page? Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Plugins to show the Plugins list on the right side. If you have Widevine, is it enabled? You can check the version number by clicking its title to show the Details panel.

What Widevine version do you currently have since you didn't post this information.

Make sure you have the latest Widevine version (4.10.2391.0).

  • Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins

You can toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.

You can possibly check the XHR requests in the Browser Console if this doesn't work.

Widevine version is 4.10.2391.0

Toggling DRM does not seem to do much

Here is a screenshot of the XHR headers. Looks OK to my untrained eye.
