What's a pity with this video overlay option is that the subtitle does not accompany the overlay but remains in the original page.

What would be interesting is to have the subtitle accompanying the detached window.

Do you think it's feasible to recover both the video and the subtitle in the main window?

Yes, this is a known issue.
