Can't forward emails with pictures

I'm using TB 52.3.0, and when I get an email from someone that contains pictures, they show just fine. But when I try to forward it, the pictures are not there; only the URL plus a lot of other junk. I've tried forwarding it to myself, and it comes without pictures. If I look through all the junk to find the URL, it does in fact open the picture, but in my browser, not in the email. Example attached.

It will have to remain a workaround then. Basically Mozilla and Microsoft differed in their interpretation of the relevant RFC. So Thunderbird considers most images from Microsoft mail clients to be non RFC compliant and will not forward the "incorrectly" encoded images.

I recall seeing a bug for it some time back, and one day it will most probably be changed to forward the images. But it will not be in the short term. We are talking about original decisions that are already a decade old.

Thanks for the explanation. That's a dumb situation, but I guess it's not the only dumb one out there. Thanks again. I'll just keep doing what I've been doing.
