Thunderbird is my default email client but emails always still default to Windows LIve instead

I am using Windows 10, I already have Windows Live but it doesn't work properly with my new ISP so I downloaded Thunderbird and set it as my default email client, however when sending emails it still selects Windows Live how can I stop this from happening?
