Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Safe mode makes no difference.

Using a different webmail provider the same problem occurs. It stops as soon as it tries to send the attachment with the message "Bad Request. Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand."

It works OK with this webmail site using Internet Explorer.

The file was written by a VB program and can be read using VB.
