I have thousands of old emails that I want to delete. Is there any way to set it up so old emails automatically go away? How do I prevent junk and spam?

Here are a couple of links on setting up Junk controls.

If you had put 'Junk' into the search in this webpage forum you would have located this Help Article:

Then train the Junk controls by marking various emails as 'Junk' and also some as 'not Junk'.

Junk mail should then be sent to the Junk folder for the account so that you can check to see they really are all junk. You can right click on Junk folder and select 'Empty Junk' to remove all in one go. then right click on folder and select 'Compact' to remove all traces of 'marked as deleted' emails.

You can also set up Junk folder to auto delete older junk Tools > Account Settings or right click on mail account and select 'Settings'

Select 'junk Settings' for the mail account Bottom right select 'Automatically delete junk mail older than xx days' click on OK
