emails display in hypertext and print page of hypertext first

display shows hypertext only - no message. in order to see an email message, must double click to open. then when printing at least a full page of hypertext prints out. any ideas on how to get rid of the hypertext and only have normal print appear? perplexed

Is View menu (alt+V) > Headers set to normal?
