Hi I'm trying to contact thunderbird support because I cannot receive or send emails and my provider Free Parking has done all the checks and it is not at their end. Help please.

You reached us. Now, you need to provide details on whatever the problem is. Screenshots of error messages, plus of your incoming server settings pane and your SMTP server settings pane. Thank you.

As david says - we would need to know what the error message says and images of your current server settings.

Located some info: https://www.freeparking.co.nz/help/article/freeparking-email-settings

server name seems to be the same no matter whether Imap Pop or SMTP The Ports do vary and you must use the correct one for the type of protocol.

Imap

  • server name: mailx.freeparking.co.nz
  • Port: 993
  • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication Method: Normal Password
  • Username: usually full email address
  • Password- same one you use to access webmail account

Pop

  • server name: mailx.freeparking.co.nz
  • Port:995
  • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication Method: Normal Password
  • Username: usually full email address
  • Password- same one you use to access webmail account

SMTP They seem to imply they do not offer a secure method of sending which is a bit of a concern to say the least. I would first try the Connection Security using STARTTLS with Authentication 'Normal Password', but the alternative are 'None' using 'password transmitted insecurely'

  • server name: mailx.freeparking.co.nz
  • Port: 587
  • Connection Security: try 'STARTTLS' but info implies no security so 'None'
  • Authentication Method: Normal Password or if 'None' above then 'password transmitted insecurely'
  • Username: usually full email address
  • Password- same one you use to access webmail account
