For some reason all my emails contained in the inbox keep moving to the trash box by themselves. I have to manually move them back to the inbox. This includes read and unread messages. anyone know how to stop this? V 152.0 64 bit.

Did you setup any filter to move email to a particular folder ( and maybe by mistake, it was set to move to trash folder ) ?

not that I know of - I am not that computer savvy. Can you tell me where to look?

I think you would know if you have manually set up any 'Message Filters'. They are used to help sort emails. Some people like newly downloaded emails to get redirected into specific folders for sorting and organising. eg: any email from a family member gets auto put into a folder called 'Family' Here is a link on 'Message Filters' https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/organize-your-messages-using-filters

If you have the 'Menu Bar' enabled - it has File, Edit, View, Go, Message, Events and Tasks, Tools , Help Tools > Message Filters

If you use the menu app (3 lines) icon: Tools > Message Filters

re :all my emails contained in the inbox keep moving to the trash

Are you talking about an IMAP or POP mail account ? Are you talking about a comcast mail account ?

Do you have any other device - another computer, laptop, phone etc which has access to the same email address to see emails ? Or even another email client on phone etc ?

If yes, Is that account set up as a POP mail account ? If yes, then it is possible you have settings in that Pop account to download mail from Inbox and delete emails after download. That would put a load of emails from Inbox into server Trash - then on computer using IMAP - that can only display whatever is on server - so it shows emails in Trash.

If you have a Pop account on another device - please make sure it has the settings to 'Leave message on server', to prevent deletions.

Let me know what you discover when you check all other devices for account settings. Also check to see if you have another email client still running on any computer.

on my phone set up as imap. On desktop set up as imap.. Comcast account yes ty marc
