Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.

If you do not like the new UI, you can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://redherring2.wordpress.com/2011/01/17/firefox-4-restoring-firefox-3-ui

It is not just an aesthetics issue. It is a performance issue. V4 is slow and buggy. Can we please have 3.6 back??

How do you uninstall FF4 on a mac?

I installed it, but it won't even run since I don't have an intel mac (thanks FF for not warning me about this!)

On a Mac you just need to drag and drop the application to the trash - http://guides.macrumors.com/Trash

Why do I have to go to a random post on some random person's blog to make an attempt at righting user interface issues? Why is this not front and center in the browser itself (e.g. opens on a new tab the first time the browser opens, or contained and easily found within the help file)?

ETA: It apparently also involves downloading skins, add-ons and extensions to even get the status bar back. Nothing like having to go to multiple third-parties to make the browser functional again.

Tony, if I drag and drop the application icon to the trash, won't I lose all my bookmarks etc?

Hamburgler, no the user data is stored in the profile folder, that is not deleted if you trash the application. When you re-install Firefox it will use the existing profile folder containing your bookmarks etc.

THANK YOU! It worked perfectly, even reopened the tabs I was on. It's my brother's computer and if he ever found out I did that....
