Export or use a single contact as attachement to a mail

daniel.schoeni replied

I remember a time, where it was possible to simply drag a contact to a new mail to send it to friends. Shortly I wanted to send my wife a contact she lost, but it was no more possible, to attach it to a mail. Even an export of this single contact is not possible. Why?

I don't like to export the whole contact folder for her, because there are many contacts she will never use. So it should be possible to export 1 single contact as .vcf alone.

I would be happy, if the developers would rebuild this functionality for a future update. Thanks.

On option is, when in compose window, to press F9 to display addressbook, then highlight the desired email address and drag into the message content window.

Thank you, but it just paints the first mail address into the message window, not the whole contact.

I found another solution by installing the CardBook add-on. There I can send a contact directly to mail from it's context. Altough the installation was a bit tricky. The initial addressbook import from Thunderbird failed with empty address books. So I had to delete them all and I had to reimport the books manually over the "New Addresbook" menu. Also I had to add this command to the command palette first.
