PDF not opening in FireFox browser, nor opening from C drive downloads
1. Have read some recent questions which are similar. 2. My current Firefox is 151.04 (64 bit) I use Windows 11 Home 3. My problem relates to payroll in QuickBooks and has only occurred for payroll run after 20th May 2026. PDF's for payrun dated 20th May 2026 open with no problem. Any payroll reports after that date fail.
I download payrun report and the page in firefox browser tab shows a 0 of 0 display (not the normal report)
The file is sitting in browser download, as well as my C drive file explorer under 'downloads'
When I double click, or highlight and select open, or highlight and select open with - my SodaPDF app displays a message indicating it failed to open a file.
4. Queried QuickBooks who believe it is a compatibility error.
5. Queried app provider (Soda PDF) and have been doing checks with them, but not able to resolve at this time.
6. Last resort went into QuickBooks using Microsoft Edge - file opened in SodaPDF with no problem.
As my preference is Mozilla browser, would like to have resolved ASAP, otherwise I need to use another browser. Await your advice - Kind regards

That's where issues are tracked, and where you would be able to actually attach the PDF you're having trouble with for the engineers to look at.
Or, ideally, have your software vendors report that to Mozilla there for you, so they can provide more details for the formats or server settings.
I'm afraid we can't do more here without either a) an example PDF that you're having trouble with, b) the download URL it comes from — expecting neither to be publicly available.
This sounds like a change on QuickBooks side, so they should be able to provide a bug report with any compatibility implications whatever they changed runs into.
I'm at this point not even convinced it's an actual PDF.js rendering issue, as it sounds like the file content was not even loaded fully to begin with… — Chezza, if you try to download the PDF as an attachment — save it from QuickBooks right to disk without opening it first — does the download progress correctly? Has the file some non–zero size? if you check the file properties in your Windows explorer, does it have any expected, usual file size? If you can preview PDFs in any other app on your system — does the file appear correctly for you locally, before being opened in Firefox? It sounds like it's coming back empty right from QuickBooks in the beginning:/
