Address bar search
How do I get searches (my default is Google) to STOP going to the address bar? This started out of the blue and it is making me crazy. I don't want to be asked which search to use, and I don't want it to search in the address bar. I want it in the search box. Thanks.

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience. The team is working on implementing a modern embedded search UI for the New Tab.
It was decided to remove the legacy code to clean up space for the new one, but that decision was canceled due to accessibility reasons. You can expect the legacy UI to (temporarily) return in the nearest future.

There used to be an option to change some code somewhere. Where is that? This is ridiculous to not be able to search in "search," and have everything go to the address bar. Why would it suddenly change? 😳
What do you mean by "(temporarily) return"? Are you saying we have to find a new browser if we don't want to search from the address bar? That is one irritating feature and I can't see you forcing that on all your users. But if you are, just let us know so we can start looking for a new browser.
This is a shame since I've been with you since the Netscape days, but that's a ridiculous and irritating feature.
Soapm, I'm not even a Firefox developer, so there's no point in threatening me :D
By temporarily I mean until the new UI lands.
