Chosen solution

Sounds like you are talking about the 'Contacts 'Sidebar' in a new Write message window.

Please do a test. In Thunderbird

  • Help > Troubleshoot Mode
  • click on 'Restart'
  • Select 'Continue in Troubleshoot Mode'

After Thunderbird auto restarts - click on '+New Message' button and report on what happens.

Do you use any add-ons ? What are they whether enabled or not? In Help > Troubleshoot Information scroll down to the 'Add-ons' section Copy the data and post it into this forum question.
