Firefox 142.0.1 (aarch64) sync prompt is wrong and risks wiping wrong device with data
Desktop browser: no Bookmarks Phone browser: Bookmarks Goal: Sync phone browser Bookmarks to desktop browser Bookmarks. Danger: backup Bookmarks before Sync syncs wrong way and no data wipes data device.
Desktop browser sync prompt is wrong: Menu -> tap Sync and save data -> tap Ready to Scan -> scan desktop Firefox QR code -> Pairing unsuccessful. Try again. OK
Here's the correct steps: Sync your Firefox experience -> tap I already have Firefox for mobile -> tap Continue -> Sync Firefox on your phone or tablet -> open Firefox 144.1 (62735) on phone -> tap Menu (3 dots at bottom) -> tap Settings -> tap Sync Now -> desktop Firefox -> open new Tab -> Bookmarks appear -> right click Import bookmarks from another browser to Firefox -> tap Remove from Toolbar.

Just reinstalled the desktop OS and needed to restore Firefox Bookmarks. Desktop Firefox browser prompted with a QR window with steps, which is and has been wrong for a long time (incredible with such a massive open source community, what's wrong, have all been headhunted to ladybird browser?). With great fear of losing bookmarks only on my phone and Firefox cloud account thingy, I just opened my phone Firefox browser Settings and something about Sync Now. My fear is that previous systems sync the empty desktop over the phone browser Bookmarks, losing everything. Lo and behold, the desktop browser appeared with the Bookmarks from the phone sync Firefox cloud account. A much simpler workflow and quite different to the desktop Firefox window prompt with the QR code and other wrong steps.
