can no longer open PDF.js

After Thunderbird update on 8/12/24, I can no longer open PDF attachements. The attachements are there, they simply cannot be opened. I can save the same PDF files to Downloads etc, so the file is there. Also cannot open any PDF file received previous to this date, that I could open before the update.

Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

have you checked in settings>general to see if it's set to download only?
