I cannot find how to hide the search bar. I rarely use search and I can't figure out why it should be shown to me all the time.

Thanks a lot! I have no idea why I didn't figure that out myself.

But this doesn't actually hide the search bar - it just leaves it empty, wasting a toolbar's worth of space at the top of the window. Can't it be just hidden? It could be used as a toolbar I guess, but it can't be moved below the menu, so it just clutters everything up.
