Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop3.inbox.com responded: [AUTH] Unsupported authentication mechanism
I'm getting this error message (Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop3.inbox.com responded: [AUTH] Unsupported authentication mechanism) when I pull up Thunderbird on my computer. For background, my email provider was acquired by another company and the big switch came a few days ago. That's when I started getting the error message. I can access my email through webmail, and my K-9 mobile app doesn't have any problems retrieving email. Any advise would be appreciated.

According to their site, you should have pop.inbox.com on 995, SSL/TLS, normal password, User Name = email address; outgoing smtp.inbox.com on 465, SSL/TLS or 587, STARTTLS, normal password, User Name = email address.
If you already have those, the interruption might be temporary as they go through the switch.
