T-Bird conitnues to download same messages
With the latest update 102.1.2 T-bird continues to download the same messages for some mail. These are deleted then with the next "Check mail" operation it re-downloads the same messages.
Not all but several.
I have "repaired" folders and compacted all. The settings for all servers are set to not leave mail on server.
If I use Gmail directly from web browser and delete the message it is then gone, but otherwise some continue to repeatedly download.
How to fix this annoying issue that started with this recent release?

Is this an imap account?
Not an imap account and it is happening with 2 different Gmail accounts. Only since the recent 2 updates.
If I do not log into the Gmail accounts using Firefox browser and delete the messages they will continue non stop to be down loaded by T-bird with every mail check. This is NOT every message only those that are "newsletters' and tech forum updates.
log into the Gmail account using a browser and clear the spam folder. Generally with pop accounts recent mail repeatedly downloading is caused by anti virus program unable to cope with malformed emails (Mostly they will appear in the spam folder) so the download starts, drops when it gets to the malformed one, then the connection times out. Thunderbird does not complete the fetch because it timed out and next time is gets the same mails over again until it gets to the malformed one again.
That does not solve the issue. All spam has been cleared and those message are not the ones downloaded
The messages that continue being downloaded are those Google "assumes" are those listed as "Forums."
This T-Bird behavior began with the recent update 2 versions back.
All regular mail is downloaded only once.

Have you changed your setting in gmail web site to tell google not to decide what is a mailing list entry?

I do not know what this setting is in Google "tell google not to decide what is a mailing list entry?" Nothing has been changed to my knowledge that coincides with the recent T-Bird Update.

Run thunderbird in troubleshooting mode for a while. Hold shift when you start it and continue when prompted and see if you still see the issue.
That will exclude your addins. Especially the toolbar from bitdefender which has been the source of issues in the past.
