You are not telling us the key issue. It appears you may have installed TB on a new hard drive? Or did you just copy from one drive to another? You mention you had an older version. Does that mean you upgraded to recent version? Was that done prior to moving to new disk drive? With more information, maybe we can help sort this out.

I had a computer tech put in a new hard drive cos hd was full. He obviously didnt know what ge was doing as there was no quicken installed no thunderbird no firefox no printer etc. Ive spent hours in shop trying to get this sorted. Ive now got thunderbird which downloads my emails but doesnt send not only does it tell me the outgoing mail server was ok but gives me an error message of 10060. I have a windows computer. I had thunderbird on my old hd but tech didnt do as asked and keep all programs etc the same. Hope this extra info helps

I regret you had a poor experience with a tech who clearly messed you up. What I request is name of email provider (e.g., AOL, YAHOO, or whatever), whether POP or IMAP, server names if known. This info is at tools>account settings>account name and at server settings. Another location with desired info is at tools>account settings and scroll to bottom of left pane for 'Outgoing Server SMTP'. If you can post exact wording of error message, that will help.

For some reason this is not sending. Ill follow instructions and get back to you later. My email is krythia@optusnet.com.au

The other information is probably more important and, if screenshot can't be done, getting server names and port numbers and answers to other questions will be a good start.

Im not sure where to find any of info asked for. Can you tell me where to look?

Yes, tools>account settings account and also server settings . Also tools>account settings and scroll to bottom for Outgoing Server SMTP.

I will look for it when im home. Cant find anything that says tools

Right-click near top and a menu should appear for toolbars. Click on Menu Bars.

Hope these photos go through

Seems i have to send individually

Not sure the email got through with the error message. Says it didnt send. Ill send again.

Okay, let's pause a moment. I cannot read the screenshots. For now, just type in server names and ports and ISP name and we'll go from there.

For your info and possible future use, there is a free screen snip software in Windows 10 that can capture off the screen by clicking windows key plus shift plus s - It takes a little twiddling to figure it out but it can snap a selection of screen and then safe to disk for uploading. There is also a simpler (to me) free tool called snapshot at bluefive dot pairsite dot com that works even better (in my opinion).

Will get back to you later today. Im out all day
