folders - many grayed out empty folders - how do I get rid of them ?

How do I get rid of those useless folders?

It started when my provider changed something. An incredible amount of folders I never made. In the webmail, there is no such thing as these folders.

All those useless folders are empty. Removing them doesn't help. The next moment you watch they are back again.

Does anybody have a solution please ?

the solution that worked for me was to uncheck the 'Show only subscribed folders' box in Account Settings>Server Settings>Advanced. I can't see how this worked, but at least it did.
